Listening to and Watching Sermons

The app makes it easy to catch up on messages you have missed and revisit your favourites. You can browse sermons and series, listen to the audio, watch the video, and keep a message playing while you move around the rest of the app.

Browse sermons

1. Open the app and go to the sermons section.
2. Scroll the list to see recent messages. Each one shows its title, the speaker and the date.
3. Keep scrolling to load older messages automatically.
4. To get the very latest, pull down on the list to refresh.
5. Tap any message to open it.

Filter the list

If your church publishes a lot of messages, you can narrow the list down.

1. Tap the filter icon at the top of the sermons screen.
2. Choose an Author to see messages from a particular speaker.
3. If your church has more than one location, choose a Location as well.
4. Tap Apply to update the list, or Clear to remove your filters.

Browse by series

Messages are often grouped into a series that runs over several weeks.

1. On the sermons screen, use the tabs near the top to switch between the full list and the Series view.
2. Tap a series to see every message in it.
3. Tap a message to open it.

Listen to the audio

1. Open a message and tap Listen (or tap the play button on the artwork).
2. The player opens and playback begins.
3. Use the play and pause button in the centre to control playback.
4. Tap the back arrow to jump back 15 seconds, or the forward arrow to skip ahead 30 seconds.
5. Drag the slider to move to any point in the message.
6. Tap the speed button (for example 1x) to play faster or slower, from half speed up to triple speed.

Watch the video

When a message has a video, it appears at the top of the message screen.

1. Open the message.
2. Tap the video to start watching.
3. Use the video controls to play, pause and adjust the volume. Some videos open in your device’s browser or video app.

Keep listening while you browse

Audio keeps playing when you close the player and use the rest of the app, so you can read along or look something up without stopping the message.

1. While a message is playing, tap the arrow at the top to close the player and return to the app.
2. The animated icon in the top corner of the screen shows that something is playing.
3. Tap that icon at any time to bring the player back.

Share or save notes

1. On a message screen, tap Share to send it to someone.
2. Scroll down to the Notes area to jot down your own thoughts. Sign in first so your notes are saved to your profile.
3. Tap Export to share your notes.

• If your church publishes a podcast feed, the sermons section works as a podcast list. You still tap an episode and press Listen to play it the same way.
• Found a sermon while reading the Bible? Some chapters show Related Sermons you can tap straight through to.
