The Web App is a simple website that displays your media library, so people can listen to audio, watch video, and search your content from any web browser. No app download is needed. This guide explains what it is, how to open and share it, and how it relates to Embeds.
What the Web App is
The Web App is a web version of your media library. It lets your community play your sermons and media in a browser, with search built in. It stays up to date on its own: when you publish new content in the Dashboard, the Web App updates automatically, with no maintenance required from you.
Opening your Web App
- In the left side menu, go to Web App.
- Read the short description of what the Web App offers.
- Select Open my “Web App” to open it in a new browser tab.
- If you see a message saying your Web App address has not been set, the Open my “Web App” button will be unavailable. Contact support and they will set it up for you.
Sharing your Web App
Your Web App has its own web address that you can share with your community.
- In the left side menu, go to Web App.
- Select Open my “Web App” to open it.
- Copy the address from your browser’s address bar.
- Share that address in a newsletter, social post, or a link on your church website.
How the Web App relates to Embeds
The Web App is a standalone website you send people to. Embeds let you put that same content directly inside your own church website instead. They work together: the Web App is the ready-made site, while an embed places your media or events into a page you already run.
To create an embed:
- In the left side menu, go to Embeds.
- Choose Media Library to show your media, or Events to show your events.
- Adjust the available filter options to suit your site.
- Copy the embed code, then paste it into your website wherever you want the content to appear.
- Like the Web App, an embed updates automatically when you publish new content, so there is nothing further to maintain.
- If your church has more than one location, you can pre-select a location or let visitors filter by location. For media, you can also let visitors filter by author.
Tips
- Use the Web App when you want a simple, shareable link to your media.
- Use an Embed when you want your media or events to appear on your existing website.
- Both stay current automatically as you add content in the Dashboard.
