Reading the Bible

The app includes a built-in Bible reader so you can read along during a service, follow a passage, or study on your own. You can choose a translation, change the text size, select verses to copy or share, and download a version to read even when you are offline.

Open the Bible and find a passage

1. Open the app and go to the Bible section.
2. Tap the book and chapter button at the top of the screen.
3. Choose a book from the list. You can switch between Traditional order and Alphabetical order using the buttons at the bottom.
4. Tap a chapter number to start reading.
5. Use the arrow buttons in the bottom corners to move to the previous or next chapter.

Choose a version

Your church may offer more than one translation.

1. Tap the version button at the top of the screen (for example KJV).
2. Pick the version you want from the list.
3. The reader switches to that translation and remembers your choice.

Change the text size

1. Tap the settings icon at the top of the Bible screen.
2. Choose a font size from smallest to largest.
3. The text updates straight away.

Select, copy and share verses

1. Tap a verse to highlight it. Tap more verses to add them to your selection.
2. A small toolbar appears with Copy, Share and (when one verse is selected) Refs for cross-references.
3. Tap Copy to copy the text, or Share to send it to someone.
4. Tap Refs to explore related verses, then tap one to jump there.
5. Tap the close button to clear your selection.

Download a version for offline reading

Downloading a version lets you read it with no internet connection, which is handy in places with weak signal.

1. The first time you open a version that is not yet on your device, the app asks if you want to download it. Tap Ok to start.
2. To manage versions yourself, tap the version button at the top, then tap the menu (the three dots) next to a version.
3. Tap Download to save it to your device. A spinner shows while it downloads.
4. Once downloaded, that version is ready to read offline.

Keep your downloads up to date

1. If a newer copy of a downloaded version is available, you may see an Update option next to it, or a prompt that updates are available.
2. Tap Update to refresh your offline copy.
3. To free up space, open the menu next to a version and tap Delete download. The version stays in your list and you can download it again any time.

• Tap More info in a version’s menu to see its language and copyright details.
• While you read, some chapters show Related Sermons at the bottom. Tap one to listen to a message on that passage.
