Set Up Your Home Screen

June 30, 2026 support 3 min read

The home screen is the first screen people see when they open your church app. From the dashboard you choose one of two layouts (Grid or Buttons), arrange the sections, panels or buttons, and link each one to a feature or form. A live phone preview shows how the screen will look as you make changes.

Open the home screen editor

  1. In the left side menu, under My App, go to Home.
  2. Review the two layout designs shown: Grid and Buttons.
  3. Select Edit to open the editor.

At the top of the editor you will see two tabs, Grid and Buttons. Select the tab for the layout you want to use.

Choose a layout

  • Grid: up to 4 horizontal sections, with up to 2 or 3 panels per section. Each panel is an image that links to a feature or form.
  • Buttons: up to 4 rotating background images with a customisable group of buttons. Each button links to a feature or form.

Set up the Grid layout

  1. On the Grid tab, find the Setup Grid Layout options on the left.
  2. Use Horizontal sections to choose how many sections appear (2, 3 or 4).
  3. For each section, use Panels in section 1 (and section 2, 3, 4 as they appear) to set how many panels it holds. Sections 1 to 3 allow 1 or 2 panels; section 4 allows up to 3 panels.
  4. To set the spacing between panels, enter a value in Gap size.
  5. To change the colour shown in the gaps, select the colour button and pick a colour, or type a hex value.
  6. In the phone preview on the right, select a panel to edit its content. The Edit panel window opens.
  7. In Edit panel, choose a Feature to link to, or choose a Form. Optionally add a Title (Optional), and upload a Background Image (recommended size 1920×1080 pixels). Select Save Changes.
  8. When the layout looks right, select Save.
  • Tip: Tick Hide home header if you do not want the header shown at the top of the home screen.

Set up the Buttons layout

  1. On the Buttons tab, find the Setup Buttons Layout options on the left.
  2. Under Backgrounds to show in app, use Number of backgrounds to show to choose between 1 and 4 background images. These cycle automatically in the app.
  3. Upload each background image in the slots below. A 9:16 aspect ratio (1080×1920) is recommended.
  4. Under Buttons, select Add New Button to add a button.
  5. Select a button in the list to open Edit Button. Choose Feature Link or Form Link, pick the feature or form, and enter a Button Label (up to 30 characters). Select Save.
  6. To reorder buttons, drag a button up or down in the list using its handle.
  7. To remove a button, select the delete (bin) icon next to it.
  8. When you are happy with the layout, select Save.
  • Tip: Tick Hide home header if you do not want the header shown at the top of the home screen.

Linking panels and buttons

Both layouts let each panel or button link to one of two things:

  • A Feature (for example a section of your app such as events, giving or media).
  • A Form you have already created.

The list of available features and forms comes from your app, so set up the features and forms you need before arranging the home screen.

Remember to select Save after making changes. Your layout then appears as the home screen in your mobile app.
